Suspect dead after officer-involved shooting in north Phoenix

An officer-involved shooting Dec. 18 near I-17 and Thunderbird Road left one suspect dead, Phoenix Police said.

PHOENIX – A suspect is dead after a shooting Wednesday in north Phoenix.

Phoenix Police say the shooting happened near 28th Avenue and Thunderbird Road.

“This critical incident is being investigated as an officer-involved shooting, with the suspect pronounced dead at the scene and no injuries to the officers involved,” Phoenix Police wrote X.

The suspect was not identified.

Thunderbird is closed from 31st Avenue to Interstate 17 because of the investigation.
