Carabao Cup rules: A reminder ahead of Spurs v United

NO ONE WAS

Like it or not, VAR has become a central part of modern football and it’s rare to have a United game without it now.

However, that will be the case on Thursday, as the final decision, just like in the previous two rounds, rests with the referee on the pitch – John Brooks – and his refereeing team. Brooks has overseen one Reds game so far this season, blowing the whistle for the recent 4-0 win over Everton at Old Trafford.

If we manage to get to the semi-finals, played over two legs, VAR will come back into play again.
