Garrett Nussmeier injury: LSU QB leaves Oklahoma game for evaluation

LSU suffered a big loss in the second quarter of their game against the Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday night. The Tigers’ quarterback Garrett Nussmeier was injured after a Sooners’ defender tackled him, driving Nussmeier’s shoulder into the ground while tackling him. The LSU quarterback appeared to be in significant pain while walking off the field and eventually entered the medical tent to be evaluated by medical personnel.

Shortly thereafter, Nussmeier removed the pads and walked with the Tigers’ training staff back to the locker room for further medical evaluation. According to Scott RabalaisThe LSU QB was evaluated for an X-ray on his right (throwing) shoulder. That information was relayed via the Tigers’ radio broadcast Saturday night. Vanderbilt transfer AJ Swann is currently in the game for the Tigers at quarterback.

Upon returning from the locker room, several members of the media noticed that Nussmeier returned to the LSU sideline with the pads on. And he warmed up in front of the Tigers’ bench.
