SZA’s ‘Lana’ cover turns her into a sparkly alien bug

Back in September, SZA showed up Hot Ones rocking a prosthetic face with bug eyes and antennae, joked: “I’m just tired of not being a bug… Wouldn’t you want to be a bug if you could be anything else?” While the bizarre aesthetic threw some fans off – but not host Sean Evans, who took it in stride and didn’t even ask about it until over ten minutes into the interview – others deduced that it could be a hint about SZA’s upcoming album , Lanawhich she has been teasing since releasing her smash album, SOSin 2022.

Now that the album is officially on its way – and apparently upgraded from a deluxe edition of SOS to its own thing – the cheeky rollout is creeping towards the December 20th release date. Today, SZA shared the cover photo in which her tummy tuck returns — and expands to encompass her entire body, turning her into a glittery (but extremely fashionable) alien insect. Maybe hanging out with Doja Cat rubbed off on her.
