Dallas Wilson is asking to be released from Oregon’s financial statement

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Five-star receiver Dallas Wilson has asked Oregon to be released from his financial statement, his agent Vernell Brown Jr. said. from EL1TE Sports Management Group Gators online.

Oregon must respond to Wilson’s request by Thursday. If and when he is released from his financial statement, Wilson plans to sign with Florida and join the Gators’ 2025 recruiting class.

The 6-foot-2.75, 193-pound Wilson is rated as a five-star prospect and ranked as the nation’s No. 2 wide receiver and no. 29 overall recruits in the On3 Industry player rankings.

Wilson signed with Oregon over the Gators on Dec. 4 after a late push from the in-state team and some rumblings that he planned to switch his commitment to UF.

Wilson has been committed to the Ducks since January 17, 2023. Despite the lengthy commitment, he continued to consider both Florida and Miami throughout this year.

A day after UF receivers practice Billy Gonzales attended Wilson’s game in Tampa, gave Wilson his favor and was in The Swamp for the 27-16 win over LSU.

According to Wilson, the visit gave the Gators a boost.

“It definitely did, it definitely did. I promise, I didn’t think they were going to pull out the win. They shocked me. They showed me what I was looking for and I loved it,” Wilson said. “Miami and Florida were close second. Now I think Florida is pulling ahead.”

A player who stood out for the Gators to Wilson? Freshman quarterback DJ Lagwaywho had another big game against LSU. He is Wilson’s favorite player on the team.

“Lagway picked up the team, put them on his back, drove down the field,” Wilson said. “He was definitely a team player. Just loved the way he performed.”

Before leaving Gainesville that night, Wilson had a long talk with the Gators’ coach Billy Napier after he upset the tigers.

“We had a good conversation,” Wilson said. “It was a 20-minute conversation we had. He just told me how badly he needs me, how I’d be a good fit for Florida, how I’d fit in the passing game and how I’m a good run-blocking receiver, big, physical, electric.”

The Gators currently have 23 high school seniors in their 2025 recruiting class, which is the No. 11 on the On3 Industry team rankings. The addition of Wilson would give them a top-10 class and four signees at the wide receiver position.
