Dense fog advisory issued for all of central and north Alabama: Alabama Weather Blog

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a dense fog advisory for its entire CWA. This includes all areas north of a line from York to Selma to Troy, including the Tuscaloosa and Birmingham metro areas. There is also a dense fog advisory issued for northern Alabama issued by the NWS in Huntsville. This includes the remaining northern counties of the state not included in the guidance issued by NWS Birmingham.

The warning of dense fog is valid until 8 on Wednesday, and visibility is expected to drop to as low as 1/4 mile or less over the area. If you are traveling, be careful and allow extra time to get to your destination. Be sure to reduce speed in foggy areas and leave plenty of space between you and the vehicle in front of you.
