‘Can’t you see it?’ – Shannon Sharpe Opens Up About Travis Hunter’s Fiancé After Leanna Lenee Rocks Heisman Winner Takes Pictures With Fans

Travis Hunter is very much the man of the moment.

Over the weekend, the Colorado Buffaloes two-way star was named the Heisman Trophy winner, the highest honor in college football awarded to the best player that season.

During Saturday’s ceremony, Hunter’s fiancée, Leanna Lenee, ruffled a few feathers and went viral for all the wrong reasons.

Lenee received criticism from fans after footage showed Hunter’s trainer, NFL legend Deion Sanders, allegedly having to ask her to stand up when Hunter was announced as the winner.

Critics labeled her reaction ‘disinterested’ and asked why she wasn’t more ‘hyped’ about her partner winning the most famous individual honor at the collegiate level.

Matters worsened when several viral clips surfaced Sunday showing Lenee getting annoyed with Hunter taking pictures with fans at a Heisman party.

Lenee was seen sitting just feet away from Hunter as he took a picture with a female fan. “What do you want me to do… then I’ll just sit here,” she seemed to say, looking visibly annoyed.

Hunter, who recently signed a lucrative endorsement deal with Adidas, then appears to suggest she could leave if she wanted, with the video capturing him saying: “You could go to the hotel, you can walk around.. .”

Social media users were furious on Hunter’s behalf, with many advising the expected no. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft to dump his significant other.

“Nah bro cut her off,” one fan wrote on X.

“You need to leave that girl fast if she’s bored on the biggest day of his life,” wrote one of the responses to the video on X.

However, three-time Super Bowl winner and First Take regular Shannon Sharpe has fired back at their critics.

“Everybody’s had a situation where they’ve had a parent tell them, ‘I don’t want you to see that person,'” Sharpe said.

“And the more they tell you they don’t want you to see that person (the more you try to go see them).

“I get it, I get it, you don’t want the man to be taken advantage of. Nobody does… But just protect yourself, protect your wealth down the road.

“But you’re not dictating anything! Can’t you see that?!

“You’ve got to let the man make his mistakes, he’ll figure it out, hopefully sooner rather than later.

“But he loves this woman. This is not an act! The more you try to pull them apart, the more you drive them closer together.

Sharpe added that he ultimately wants what’s best for Hunter, who is just months away from signing his rookie NFL contract.

“I want that young man to be happy. Stop trying to tell people what to do!

“I want Travis Hunter to do the best he possibly can. I want him to be smart. He’s about to get more money than he ever dreamed of and I want to protect himself.

“Sometimes you have to bump your own head before you realize how much it hurts.”

Hunter and Lenee have known each other since their days at Collins Hill High School in Suwanee, Georgia.

But Lenee initially ignored Hunter’s Instagram direct messages because ‘he wasn’t her type’ and revealed she initially dismissed him as ‘just another athlete.’

She succumbed to Hunter’s charms and they have been together since 2022, with their wedding planned for next year.

Hunter has stood by his fiancee amid the negativity and says he can’t wait to marry her as soon as he signs his NFL contract.

“She might look annoyed at me, but at the same time, there’s a lot of things she’s dealing with during the game. There’s a lot of things people don’t see off camera,” Hunter said recently on The Pivot Podcast.

“I just let people talk,” he continued.

“Me, I’m a big troll, so I just troll on the internet. I really don’t care what they think or what they say about us, so I just go ahead and troll. They talk about her, I send her to make them even madder than they already are, so they try to find something to hate, try to find something to break up our relationship, but there’s nothing there, there’s nothing you can find, because I love my woman.’

“She is my closest friend in everything, she helped me with everything. It is a bit hard sometimes, but she is always there.”
