Lily Phillips: The middle-class schoolgirl who turned her back on a privileged upbringing and ‘working class made good’ parents to achieve international fame with tacky stunts

A schoolgirl born to middle-class parents and raised in a picturesque village in Derbyshire, Lily Phillips dreamed of one day owning a bridal shop like her aunt.

She was a seemingly conventional youngster who enjoyed watching SpongeBob SquarePants at home and playing netball with her friends after school.

Growing up in a wealthy home, she enjoyed all the perks her hard-working parents could provide – two vacations a year, private tutoring for the kids if they wanted them, luxury cars in the driveway of their spacious four-bedroom home.

Her father, Lindsay, 59, started life as a cleaner but set up his own cleaning company when Lily was ten years old, which bought such financial rewards.

But despite being given these privileges and opportunities, Lily’s life has taken a radically different course than the one her family planned for her: This week Liiy has become the object of international fame as a pornographic model who had sex with 100 men in 24 hours.

And if this wasn’t tacky enough, she’s even boasted of plans to break the ‘world record’ next month and have sex with 1,000 people in the same period. And she has reportedly earned £2million after using her controversial films to build an audience of 36,000 paying subscribers on the seedy OnlyFans platform.

So how did she make this strange and, for many, disturbing transformation from ordinary girl to celebrity?

Speaking exclusively to MailOnline, she said: ‘I didn’t join OnlyFans because I was desperate for money. My parents loved to spoil us, I had a very comfortable, happy life. It was a picture-perfect childhood and I had fantastic parents.’

Her early life is in stark contrast to the world she now finds herself in and the fame she has created.

She was brought up in a stylish semi-detached house in the village of Denby, Derbyshire, set amongst rolling hills and just a stone’s throw from the world famous Denby Pottery factory.

Every year the family went on a skiing holiday in the winter followed by a luxurious summer holiday, with Lily describing her upbringing as ‘perfect’.

Other luxury accoutrements included an Audi TT and Porsche 911, which Lindsay drove, while her mother Emma, who worked as an estate agent, zipped around in a Range Rover.

She would be ferried in the expensive vehicles to a local climbing center and sports clubs where she enjoyed netball and cricket.

The family have now moved from the house where Lily grew up, but a former neighbor told MailOnline: ‘They were a lovely family, very friendly and hard working. You could tell they had a little money because they had flash cars on the drive and nice vacations, but they weren’t that big on it.

‘Lindsay was just a working class man made good and we were all happy for him. He had a strong work ethic and earned good money.’

Lily’s older brother went to private school, and she was also given the opportunity to benefit from a top class private education, but she declined.

She said: ‘I always thought private school kids were a bit strange. And I wasn’t that smart and thought I’d be at the bottom of the class, so I told my parents I didn’t want to go.’

Lily attended the local John Flamsteed Community School, where she gained five GCSEs and was described as a popular girl who had a close circle of friends.

A former pupil said: ‘Lily had a lovely, comfortable life and was a great girl and some of us were very envious of her. She had fun, had many friends and had no money problems because her parents were rich.

‘Her OnlyFan work has shocked quite a few of us because we don’t understand why she does it.’

It was after leaving school and going to Sheffield University to study nutrition that things took a dramatic turn.

She admits she started ‘sleeping around’ which led her to launch her OnlyFans feed in 2020 when she was unable to attend any lectures due to the pandemic.

She earned £2,000 in the first month, which gave her a taste for more.

She said: ‘I was kind of selling sex to guys on my nights out without making any money, so I thought I might as well get paid for it.’

She added: ‘I was at university and already such a “sluzza” so I thought why don’t I try OnlyFans and make some money on the side?’

Lily’s parents have chosen not to comment publicly on their daughter’s work, but her mother is responsible for managing her finances and helping to establish a property portfolio with her substantial earnings, said to be in six figures a month.

Last year, Lindsay sold his cleaning business and is spending his retirement with his wife traveling the world and living in a motorhome in the Derbyshire countryside.

But while they have remained tight-lipped about their daughter, Lily recently suggested on a podcast that her mother was responsible for her obsession with sex at such a young age and made other comments about her sexual practices too explicit to report.

Lily also admitted to MailOnline that despite her ‘picture perfect’ childhood, she had developed something of a fascination with sex as a young teenager, watching her first porn film at the age of 13.

She said: ‘I don’t know why but I’ve been obsessed with sex from a young age. I was always more into sex than my friends and always talked about it at school.’

Despite the criticism, Lily insists she feels ’empowered’ and ‘happy’.

She said: ‘Honestly, it has changed my life. How I feel about myself, my confidence. I am a 23 year old woman who pays my own rent and makes good money. I am very proud of what I have achieved – I am a feminist, 100 per cent.

After having sex with 100 men in October, Lily was filmed breaking down in tears while being filmed for a You Tube documentary ‘I Slept With 100 Men in One Day’ which has gone viral.
