Gracie Abrams fans furious over ‘completely unjustified’ concert ticket costs for US tour dates

Gracie Abrams has left her fans with a sour taste in their mouths with her ‘unjustified’ ticket prices for the second leg of her US tour.

It was announced earlier this week that the 25-year-old Close To You singer would be performing several dates across the country next summer as part of her The Secret of Us deluxe tour.

Starting July 23rd in Boston, Gracie will also play shows in Toronto, New York City, California and Colorado.

She will then wrap things up on August 26 and August 27 in Mexico City.

Shortly after Gracie announced her shows, however, fans discovered in presales that two VIP tickets at Madison Square Garden would set them back an eye-watering $648.40.

Fans of the singer – who is the daughter of filmmaker JJ Abrams and Katie McGrath – were furious at the ‘absurd’ ticket prices and expressed their outrage on social media.

Referring to X, formerly Twitter, one quipped: ‘There is not a single Gracie Abrams song worth paying $700 to hear live.’

Another said: ‘Gracie Abrams $700 tickets are totally unwarranted, that girl isn’t famous enough to make her prices that high. I’m sorry, Gracie ily, but what.’

“There is not a single concert worth paying $700 for,” wrote a third.

Echoing a similar sentiment, another said: ‘This isn’t even a shadow of her, there are very few artists you should be willing to pay $700 to see.’

“No concert tickets should ever reach $700 tbh it’s just absurd,” added a fifth.

“I don’t think there are any songs worth $700 to see live,” wrote a sixth.

Another wrote: ‘Even $70 is too much. What are we doing here?’

After pre-sale registrations closed, fans had the opportunity to secure tickets for all tour dates during the general public sale, which opened on December 13.

StyleCaster reported that Ticketmaster had priced Gracie’s shows from $69 to $263, with VIP packages from $530 to $648.

While her New York dates are now sold out, individual tickets for her Madison Square Garden performances are selling on Stub Hub for $436 or more.

Grace’s The Secret of Us tour originally kicked off on September 5th in Portland, Oregon before wrapping up in the States in Philadelphia on October 15th.

Her concerts are set to continue in February 2025, when she begins the European leg in Madrid, Spain.

She previously served as the opening act for Taylor Swift during her record-breaking Eras Tour.

Last month, Taylor revealed that she and Gracie lost their cool after learning their track, Us, was nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the 2025 Grammys.

While on stage in Toronto, the 34-year-old pop star recalled her emotional reaction to finding out their track got a nod from The Recording Academy.

“The Eras Tour has been going on for about a year and a half now, and so much life can happen in the phase of that tour, and a lot of art can happen in the course of that tour,” she recalled to the crowd.

‘I think you will remember the brilliant brilliant young lady you saw earlier tonight, Gracie Abrams. So, history lesson, Gracie opened up to me a year ago on the Eras Tour.’

She continued: “We had so many fun memories on that tour, celebrating her being nominated for Best New Artist at the Grammys, we had like 11000 Cosmos, came back to my house and just started writing a song.’

The Fortnight hitmaker went on to say that the track, Us, from Gracie’s album The Secret of Us, was ‘nominated for a Grammy’.

“You can’t even imagine the phone call between the two of us when the nominations came out and we saw that the song was nominated,” she explained.

‘It was just screaming. It wasn’t even words, it was just wild screaming throughout the call.’
