Police situation closes Loop 202 in Chandler; expect major delays

CHANDLER, AZ (AZFamily) – A busy East Valley freeway is closed Monday morning as police respond to an incident.

Details are currently limited, but Chandler police said the incident is at the Loop 202 Santan Freeway near Gilbert Road.

Traffic is completely blocked in the area, including in both directions on the motorway. Drivers are advised to seek alternative routes.

Police said officers responded to the area for a welfare check, but no other information about the call was available.
