It happened. It finally happened. Matthew Stafford scrambled for the first time this season Sunday against the Eagles.

It took 11 plays, but Stafford saw an opening and took advantage of it, scrambling for 15 yards and a first down. Entering the game, Stafford had 12 rushes for minus-7 yards, mostly kneeling.

With his 15-yard run against Philadelphia, Stafford now has 5 rushing yards on the year. It’s also his longest run since 2020, when he had a 17-yard rush as a member of the Lions.

It’s not that he’s terribly slow, he just doesn’t seem to run very often.
