GDP 2024 | Twitter loves it as Travis Head turns mid-innings commentator and praises Rana’s delivery

The Indian bowlers were in complete control in Perth and dominated the Australian batters with ease. By the end of the third day, Australia had lost three wickets, leaving them with a tough task ahead, needing 534 runs to win. On the fourth day, the overnight pair of Usman Khawaja and Steve Smith took to the crease, but things did not improve much. Mohammed Siraj struck early, dismissed Khawaja and brought Travis Head to the crease. While Head and Smith briefly steadied the ship and took the score to 59/4, debutant Harshit Rana continued to impress with his bowling and earned a compliment from Head for one of his deliveries.

On the second ball of the 21st over, Rana delivered a backward ball around fifth stump at 137 kmph. Head flicked back, bent the back leg slightly and tried to cut but was beaten by the outside edge as the ball whizzed past him. After judging the delivery, Head noted “bounce”, signaling that he was reading the ball’s trajectory. With a touch of humour, when the delivery was passed, he looked at Rana and said, “Well bowled,” acknowledging the quality of the delivery. The moment quickly gained attention on social media, with fans reacting to Head’s sporting gesture and sharing it across platforms.
