2024 CMAs red carpet: Lainey Wilson, Kelsea Ballerini, Kacey Musgraves shine at awards show

Country style met red carpet glamor at Wednesday night’s CMA Awards in Nashville.

Lainey Wilson, host of the evening as well as a nominee in four categories, added a twist to her traditional cowgirl look, pairing her sparkly black blazer and hat with sheer pants.

Her fellow nominees Kelsea Ballerini and Kacey Musgraves went for glittery glamour, with Ballerini wearing a shimmering silver dress and Musgraves wearing a pale blue crystal-encrusted dress with fun, feathery sleeves.

Katharine McPhee opted for a smart black trouser suit, while Alana Springsteen sparkled in black sequins and female vocalist of the year, Ashley McBryde, wore a plunging maroon dress with a flowing cape.

For many stars, the CMAs were date night. Chris Stapleton and wife Morgane stepped out in matching black on black ensembles, with Stapleton topping his look with a signature cowboy hat. Miranda Lambert and her husband, Brendan McLoughlin, also smartly opted for matching black, with Lambert wearing a strapless dress and flowy train.

Luke Bryan and his wife, Caroline Boyer, made a smart pairing, with Bryan wearing a black suit with white pinstripes and Boyer rocking a light blue sequin dress with floral appliqués.

Ballerini and her boyfriend, “Outer Banks” star Chase Stokes, also stepped out together.

The pair have been together for nearly two years, after first sparking romance rumors in January 2023, with Ballerini confirming their relationship a month later. In a recent interview with Women’s Health, Ballerini said of Stokes, “It’s been such a beautiful journey to figure out how to be in a relationship with someone who is really a mirror of you.”

Keith Urban opted for a casual look with a dark rock-lined jacket, while Thomas Rhett went traditional with a tan cowboy hat and tuxedo. Luke Combs added a pop of color to his look with a blue suede jacket. “Landman” star Billy Bob Thornton wore a black suit over an unbuttoned blue button-down shirt with black pants and a black hat, accessorizing with a guitar key ring.

New Artist of the Year nominees Shaboozey and Megan Moroney stood out on the carpet in bright colors. Shaboozey wore a mint green suit and shades, while Moroney shone in a bright blue strapless dress with a fishtail skirt.

Little Big Town mostly coordinated black and white looks, with Kimberly Schlapman, Jim Westbrook and Phillip Sweet doing variations on the theme, while Karen Fairchild stood out in a one-shoulder orange velvet dress.
