LATEST | Several schools are announcing closures as snow continues to fall in parts of Herefordshire and the surrounding area

There are difficult driving conditions in parts of Herefordshire this morning with snow settling in places.

The A49 (Dinmore Hill) and A4103 (Fromes Hill) are open but the snow has settled in places.

Areas such as Bromyard have also seen some heavy snow.

Herefordshire Council have had gritters out in the early hours of this morning, so it is hoped that the majority of roads will remain open and fine for the rush hour this morning.

Further outbreaks of sleet and snow are likely this morning.

School closures:

Wigmore Primary School:

With snow settling and set to continue throughout the morning, Wigmore Primary School will be closed today. The work will be put on Seesaw.

Wigmore High School:

With snow settling and set to continue throughout the morning, Wigmore High School will be closed today. The lessons will be on Microsoft Teams.

Earl Mortimer College:

EMC is closed today due to snow which has affected many staff and their safe access to the school. The work will be set using Show my homework for all students.

Lindridge St Lawrence (Tenbury Wells):

Closed due to snow overnight.

Tenbury High Ormiston Academy:

Closed due to snow overnight.
