Tornado Watch issued for several counties throughout the Oklahoma City Metro

The News 9 weather team is monitoring severe storms Monday morning.

Several tornadoes touched down in southwest Oklahoma early this morning and conditions moved east across the state throughout the morning.

ONE tornado clock is issued for Caddo, Canadian, Carter, Cleveland, Comanche, Garvin, Grady, Greer, Harmon, Jackson, Jefferson, Love, McClain, Murray, Oklahoma, Stephens, Tillman and Washita Counties until 10:00

ONE tornado clock is issued for Kingfisher and Logan County until 10:00 a.m

Oklahoma had severe storms overnight and early Monday morning.

It has calmed down, but the risk of severe storms and tornadoes is not over.

The risk of localized flooding, damaging winds and a few tornadoes will be present by mid-morning.

As the storms roll through, gusts could reach 60-70 mph, and a few embedded tornadoes are possible, especially in areas near the line of storms.

Central Oklahoma could still see storms between 6 and 10

East Oklahoma could see them between 7 and 11

There is also a concern for flooding as some areas could see 2-3 inches of rain as the system moves out. Be prepared for possible power outages and dangerous driving conditions.

As the storms pass, the threat of severe weather will subside by late morning. However, the weather will not calm down completely.

In the afternoon, the sky begins to clear, but strong south-westerly winds take over. Wind gusts will reach 30-40 mph, making for a breezy and choppy afternoon.

Highs on Monday will be in the 60s in severe weather.

Tuesday looks dry, but rain and storms may return on Wednesday.

COLD FRONT:

It will be cold next week! We will see two cold blasts and may see some snow chances in parts of the state.

We’ll see the first big cold snap around November 20th!

This will bring the coldest air of the season to Oklahoma, likely in the 20s. Some data suggests some snow, but we’ll see.
