‘Wildcat Walk Thru’ store powered by Amazon, AI revealed

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Fox 56) — Rupp Arena announced a new store coming to the historic arena that will be powered by Amazon’s new AI-powered “Just Walk Out” technology.

According to a press release, it deals in a store run by Amazon’s new technology intends to provide customers with a “hassle” shopping experience.

Wildcat Walk Thru,” according to Rupp Arena, will be located on the upper concourse on Level 2 near Section 13. The store will be stocked with alcoholic beverages, bottled water, sodas and snacks, along with hot fan favorites like Hunt’s Brothers Pizzas and fresh popcorn.

Rupp Arena announced that patrons will present their credit cards at the entrance to the Wildcat Walk Thru. Then, the AI-powered technology will scan what customers take from and/or return to the shelves to create a kind of “virtual” shopping cart. When customers are done shopping, they can simply walk out of the store without standing in line to pay.

Customers can now pick up their favorite items and leave, reducing wait times and offering a seamless, hassle-free shopping experience.”
