NC State WR commit flips to UM

Michigan has scored another key win on the recruiting trail.

Three-star Lake Worth (Fla.) Santaluces wide receiver Jamar Browder flipped his commitment from NC State to Michigan shortly after his official visit over the weekend.

“I get along with the coaches,” Browder said. “I see myself playing there and being an impact player. I think they need help and I can help. I liked the atmosphere there. I play better in big games and in front of more people, so I feel like this is the type of place I need to be.”

Browder originally committed to NC State in June. However, Michigan jumped into the mix this fall and made a big push as it looked to add more size to its wide receiver room.

Michigan wide receivers coach Ron Bellamy spearheaded Browder’s recruitment and really moved the needle over the past few months.

“Coach Bellamy knows where I’m from and gets my language,” Browder said. “It’s like talking to someone from home. He was just being himself. He didn’t have a pitch. He just told me about plays and concepts and asked me. I passed the test, so that was good. He said they need me. He wasn’t lying. They definitely need some size and someone to pick it up.”

At 6-foot-4, 205 pounds, Browder is ranked as the No. 113 wide receiver and No. 713 overall prospect nationally, according to the On3 Industry Ranking.
