Trump pulls ahead of Harris; Polls close in most states; The Senate is turning against the GOP

Nebraska Republican Sen. Deb Fischer defeated independent Dan Osborn, the Associated Press expected, officially putting the Senate in Republican control next year regardless of who wins the White House.

That call gives the Republicans 51 seats, AP expects.

The GOP was widely expected to win the Senate, but the news still means Harris would have no ability to pass any of her agendas without Republican help, even if she were to win the White House.

Investors will now pay close attention to the house, which is still too close to call.
