Glen Powell Gives Winner of His Lookalike Contest a Cameo in His Next Film as a ‘Personal Award’

The actor’s mother, Cyndy Powell, served as a judge for the contest in Austin, Texas

Glen Powell‘s mom helped crown her son’s lookalike!

On Sunday, Nov. 24, the actor’s mother, Cyndy Powell, was on hand to judge her son’s lookalike contest, which included a $5 prize, a cowboy hat and free queso from Torchy’s for a year.

Per Austin’s local subsidiary Fox Auditorium Shores was packed with hundreds of fans as Cyndy gave the winner a thumbs up, while Glen, 36, appeared on FaceTime to offer his doppelgänger the opportunity to grace one of their loved ones with a cameo in one of his upcoming projects.

The winner of the contest was contestant number four, a physician assistant named Maxwell Braunstein, who hails from Austin.

“My face hasn’t hurt like this since I was 10 years old and at Disney World,” Braunstein told the magazine.

“I told people I wanted to win. I mentioned it to my friends who sent it to me,” he added.

Talking to Glen who is currently filming Edgar Wright’s 1987 remake The Running Mansaid Braunstein, “Blessed that your mother thinks I’m anything like you.”

According to Blackcalled Glen into the competition to reveal that the winner’s “parents or any family member of their choice” could appear in his next film.

This comes after the frequent appearances of the star’s parents Cyndy and Glen Powell Sr. in his film.

“I know there’s some money and a hat on the line here, but I just wanted to say that the winner of today’s contest will get a personal prize from me,” Glen said in a video shared on X (formerly known as Twitter). “Now you may know that my parents make a cameo in every film I make, but today the winner of the Glen Powell lookalike contest wins their parents or any family member of their choice a cameo in my next film. “

“Take a picture together for me, enjoy my favorite city in the world, keep Austin weird, hook ’em Horns and see you every time I look in the mirror,” he added.
