2 injured after house explosion near Weddington

UNION COUNTY, NC (WBTV) – Two people are injured after a house explosion Sunday morning near Weddington, according to Union County Fire Marshal Jon Williams.

Several calls came in for an explosion on Steeple Chase Circle just before 1 p.m

Williams said there was no fire and the home is considered a total loss.

One person has serious injuries and another has minor injuries, Williams said.

Search and rescue crews are stabilizing the house so the Union County Fire Marshal’s Office can begin the investigation into the cause.
