We have come, again, to the weekend. Saturday and another Wordle to solve, and hopefully some other fun things to do. I don’t really have plans – whatever plans I once thought I might have all but trashed – so I’m planning to do housework and hopefully get outside while it’s still relatively nice out. As I was writing this though, I checked the weather and we’re expected to get a high of 38, which isn’t so nice. Next weekend is warmer, jumping into the high 50s and low 60s.

Maybe I’ll stay inside and play video games instead! For now, let’s solve this Wordle!

A very lucky day for you. SLOPE nabbed me two yellow boxes, leaving only 37 remaining possible solutions. I wanted to move the yellow boxes to green if possible, and for some reason I came up with BISON, which ended up being a terrifically lucky word, though not as lucky as guessing just two. I had to puzzle it out for a spell, but in the end I only came up with VISOR, and that was quite right, Wordle. Huzzah!

How to play Competitive Wordle

Guessing in 1 is worth 3 points; guessing in 2 is worth 2 points; guessing in 3 is worth 1 point; guessing in 4 is worth 0 points; guessing in 5 is -1 point; guessing in 6 is -2 points and missing Wordle is -3 points.
If you beat your opponent, you get 1 point. If you stand straight, you get 0 points. And if you lose to your opponent, you get -1 point. Add it up to get your score. Keep a daily running score or play for a new score every day.
Friday is 2XP, which means you double your points – positive or negative.

Today’s Wordle Etymology

The word visor derives from Old French visorswhich means “a frontal part of a helmet” or “a mask”, derived from wisemeaning “face” or “sight”. This in turn traces back to Latin viewmeaning “sight” or “appearance”, from further“to see.” The term evolved to refer to any protective or shielding covering, especially for the face or eyes.
