Clemson without star quarterback

PITTSBURGH — Clemson’s defense will be down one player when the 20th-ranked Tigers visit Pitt at noon at Acrisure Stadium.

Clemson Insider has learned that linebacker Wade Woodaz will not play in the game. Clemson will likely start freshman Sammy Brown in his place.

The Tigers (7-2, 6-1 ACC) will likely play a 4-3 today. Woodaz made the trip to Pittsburgh but limped off the bus this morning. Sources tell TCI Woodaz was injured in training earlier this week and it appears to be some sort of leg injury.

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney will update us on the injury after the game.

Woodaz leads the Tigers with 65 tackles. He has started all nine games and has 6.5 tackles for loss and two sacks to go with four PBUs and nine quarterback pressures.
