Rain/snow mix possible in Minnesota next week

UNDATED (WJON News) — Looking at a system next week, the National Weather Service says there is high confidence the Upper Midwest will see precipitation that starts as rain.

Uncertainty remains high as to where the snow will fall and how much, depending on which path the system takes.

There are still more questions regarding next week’s storm system. The storm track will determine what impacts we experience, including how much precipitation falls and whether it mostly falls as rain or snow.

Although there is considerable uncertainty, both tracks provide widespread precipitation.

The chance of seeing a half inch or more of precipitation is 50% or greater across the region.

St. Cloud has had 2 1/2 inches of snow so far this season. It all happened on Halloween. We are 1 inch below normal so far this season.

For precipitation, St. Cloud has had 1.95 inches of rain so far this fall, which is 4.40 inches below normal.

The high temperatures in St. Clouds are then expected to be around 51 on Monday, around 46 on Tuesday and around 41 on Wednesday. Lows are expected to be around 39 Monday night, around 35 Tuesday night and around 29 Wednesday night.
