Winter storm warnings and weather advisories bring snow Thursday

The snow will continue through most of Thursday across most of the state, with the heaviest falls in the morning hours. Colder air moves in Thursday evening before the milder air returns next week.

A winter storm warning remains in place for most of Thursday for much of central and southeastern Minnesota, with winter weather advisories north and south of the warning area.

The snow will continue for most of Thursday, with the heaviest falling in the morning hours. Lighter snow will taper off in the evening through early night Thursday night.

The storm’s snowfall totals will be greatest across central Minnesota and up the North Shore. Lighter amounts will be seen in southwestern Minnesota and near the international border.

Temperatures will be in the 20s and twenties during the day Thursday for the most part, allowing salt to work pretty well at least on roads across the Twin Cities.

It will be colder overnight with temperatures below zero in the north to teenagers in the southeast.

Friday and Saturday will both be cool, but also with some sunshine. High points will mostly be in the teenage years.

Another snow system will move in late Sunday into early Monday with some lighter snowfall. Then we start with a mild week next week. Elevations will be above freezing for southern Minnesota, so enjoy the fresh snow while you can!
