Josh Allen credits fiancee Hailee Steinfeld after rising to NFL MVP favorite

Life is good for Josh Allen on and off the field.

The Bills quarterback, who is a heavy favorite to win his first NFL MVP award, explained that his fiancee, actress Hailee Steinfeld, has played a big role in his success this season.

“She’s been a big part,” Allen, 28, shared Associated Press. “The morale, the support. When I come home, she’s my biggest fan, my biggest supporter. She’s just the best.”

Allen proposed to Steinfeld during Buffalo’s bye week last month in a stunning scene that featured an arch of pink and red roses next to a body of water that, as seen a joint post on Instagram.

The Pro Bowl quarterback gushed over Steinfeld while responding to comments from Bills left tackle Dion Dawkins, who explained that Allen plays with joy because he’s happy in his personal life.

“There’s something about it,” Dawkins said of the couple’s Nov. 22 engagement. “When you’re in this world like we’re in and a lot of people are pulling for you and a lot of sources of ups and downs in a roller coaster and you have that one stable person that you can rely on and go home and hug and get a laugh no matter what, I think that’s fooled. And that’s what I think is going on.”

Allen did not deny it.

Steinfeld previously gushed about her proposal in her Beau Society newsletter.

“All the happy tears just barely dried,” she wrote. “When we tell the story, look back at pictures, or even say ‘We’re engaged’ or ‘We’re getting married,’ I start to cry.”

The couple, who are quite private about their relationship, were first photographed together in Manhattan in May 2023.

Allen has been playing almost light ever since he popped the question.

In his last three games, he had 1,020 combined passing and rushing yards and 13 total touchdowns without an interception.

Allen had a season-high 362 passing yards in a 48-42 victory against the NFL-leading Lions on Sunday in a game that nearly secured his first MVP trophy.

He’s a -900 favorite at FanDuel, ahead of reigning MVP Lamar Jackson at +550 odds.

The Bills (11-3) previously clinched the AFC East Division title for a franchise-record fifth straight season with a 35-10 win over the 49ers on Dec. 1.

The Bills host the Patriots (3-11) on Sunday.
