Israel hits Houthi targets after missile attack

Israel has said its warplanes carried out a series of strikes against military targets in Yemen belonging to the Iran-backed Houthi movement.

An Israeli military spokesman said the targets included Red Sea ports and energy infrastructure in the capital Sanaa.

The Houthi-run Al Masirah TV reported that seven people were killed in the port of Salif and two in the Ras Issa oil facility, both of which are in Hudaydah province.

The strikes came less than two hours after a missile fired from Yemen was intercepted over central Israel. A school and several cars were damaged in Ramat Gan on the outskirts of Tel Aviv.
