San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle needed just 33 yards Monday night to secure his fourth career season with at least 1,000 receiving yards. Kittle reached the milestone in the first quarter against the Detroit Lions and accomplished it on the play shown below.

While Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce leads all NFL tight ends with seven 1,000-yard seasons, Kittle joins an elite group in second — Tony Gonzalez, Rob Gronkowski and Jason Witten — with four.

Last week, Kittle revealed that his annual goals include 10 touchdowns, 1,000 receiving yards and 75 catches. Heading into Monday’s game, the All-Pro tight end had eight touchdowns, 967 receiving yards and 68 receptions.

“Anytime you can get any of those and you can reach those goals, no matter what happens in the season, it’s always a good thing,” Kittle said. “I would much rather win football games but to have that as a cherry on top is great.

“And just, the more seasons you can stack up like that, the more fun things you can do down the road.”

Kittle previously surpassed the 1,000-yard mark in 2018, 2019 and 2023, cementing his place among the NFL’s leading players at the position.
