Rain moves out during the night and gives way to sunshine and warm temperatures

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The last Saturday of the year has been a stormy one. Much of the FOX13 viewing area will continue to see showers and hear some rumbles of thunder, but precipitation has begun to fall, especially for Arkansas and Tennessee.

Northeast Mississippi is still not out of the woods. Several storms will be capable of strong winds, heavy rain and isolated tornadoes.

Rainfall totals reached 4.5 to 5 inches in DeSoto and Shelby counties, leading to flash flooding of streets/road closures.

Most of the rain will move east by dawn with gradual clearing Sunday afternoon. Mild temperatures and drier conditions are expected through Tuesday – and a cool-down for New Year’s Eve and 2025.
