At 7:30 PM EST, the 10-2 BYU Cougars will play the 9-3 Colorado Buffaloes in San Antonio, TX’s Alamodome for what is sure to be a memorable game.

Although BYU did not qualify for the Big 12 Championship, Kalani Sitake’s talented team ended the year on a high note with a win over Houston thanks to quarterback Jake Retzlaff’s 167 yards and running back LJ Martin turning his 22 carries into 87 yards.

“We were close to being in a conference championship game,” Sitake said. “The guys are thirsty for it and they’re hungry for it. … We have some goals I think we can reach. We’re so close now.”

Deion Sanders’ Buffaloes closed out 2024 and made quick work of Oklahoma State, dispatching the Cowboys 52-0 on Nov. 29. Quarterback Shedeur Sanders threw five touchdown passes, three of which were caught by 2024 Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter. LaJohntay Wester also grabbed a pair.

The team’s appearance in the Alamo Bowl is their third in nine seasons. Colorado advanced to the big game in San Antonio in 2016 and 2020. Unfortunately, the squad lost both times.
