The Green Bay PackersMinnesota Vikings the game seems to have plenty of flex appeal for those making such decisions.

The game between the NFC North rivals in Minneapolis was moved from noon to 3:25 p.m. and put in a national television window despite both teams already qualifying for the playoffs with two games left to play. The Vikings (13-2) still have a chance to overtake the Detroit Lions (13-2) for the division title.

Green Bay head coach Matt LaFleur is 20-3 in December, and the Packers (11-4) have outscored their opposition 64-13 over the past two games. However, they have yet to defeat a team with a better record this season, going 0-4 against the Lions, Vikings and Eagles.

LaFleur has a career record of 6-5 against the Vikings.

The Packers will also likely avoid playing No. 2 seed on the road (currently Philadelphia) in the first round of the playoffs, so there is plenty of motivation to win the final two games, even though they will play a road game in the wildcard round regardless of playoff position.

There is enough to break down in this big game, e.g The packages can keep Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison and Sam Darnold from torching them without cornerback Jaire Alexander — coach Matt LaFleur sounded pessimistic about Alexander (PCL strain) returning this week. On the other side of the line, how will Jordan Love and the pass protection handle Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores’ blitzes and fake blitzes from seven- and eight-man fronts? The last time these teams met, things didn’t go so well – Love was pressured (sacks, hits and hurries) 19 times, according to Pro Football Referencehis teammates dropped four passes and he threw three interceptions. The first game, on Sept. 29, seems like ages ago, even though the Vikings continue to play good defense and are the No. 2 in the league with fewest points allowed. The Packers‘ The game has risen since the bye, although they haven’t faced anyone of the Vikings’ caliber in that time. Still, the guess here is that Love will take better care of the ball and, with the help of Josh Jacobs’ running, make enough plays to get the Packers the tough road win. Packers 31, Vikings 28

The Packers are set for a momentum-shifting win on the road against the Vikings for the second year in a row. Beat the Vikings 13-2 on their home turf and they’ll have a signature win before heading into the playoffs. They will need to win on the road if they want to go anywhere in the postseason. The problem with comparing the game to last year is that the Vikings started Jaren Hall at quarterback. They were woefully overmatched against the Packers defense and lost, 33-10. This time they have full strength in the offensive. They’ve got tight end TJ Hockenson back, they added Aaron Jones, they signed several free agents on defense and coach Kevin O’Connell has quarterback Sam Darnold playing like a Pro Bowler. The Packers are playing well, but they’re not on fire. The game will be close, but playing in front of the home crowd, the Vikings will prevail. Vikings 34, Packers 31

I’ve been saying it all year: The Vikings aren’t as good as their remarkable 13-2 record. And there’s a chance I’ll end up eating crow Sunday. But I don’t think so. The Vikings are a good team. They have shown that by doing what good teams do, by finding ways to win close games. They are 8-1 in games decided by a single possession, including wins against the New York Jets, Jacksonville Jaguars and Chicago Bears. A week ago, the Vikings won with a field goal at the Seattle Seahawks. A week before that, the Packers won by 17 points in Seattle. The Packers are 5-3 in games decided by a single possession, and of course that includes close wins at Jacksonville and Chicago. But they have beaten teams with five wins by double digits. They have won their last two games by a combined score of 64-13. They beat San Francisco and Miami by a combined score of 68-27 in one short week in late November. A close game could be concerning, given the Vikings’ success in tight situations, but I think the Packers’ ceiling is simply higher. Packers 27, Vikings 23

The Vikings continue to find ways to win. Sam Darnold is having a great season and there is plenty of talent on both sides of the ball delivering. What stands out to me in the first matchup between the teams in Week 4 was how badly the Packers started the game and battled throughout but still lost by only 2. If it wasn’t for Jordan Love’s first game back from injury , if the Packers defense was more comfortable in its new scheme, and if rookie kicker Brayden Narveson hadn’t missed two field goals, you could be talking about a close Packers win instead of a close loss. While not a finished product, the Packers are playing their best football yet. We will see how much growth there is in this game. It will be close regardless, but I’m going with Green Bay with another big road win. Packers 27, Vikings 24
