Miley Cyrus shares letter about wanting to ‘move on and start over’

On Monday, Miley Cyrus wished her followers on Instagram a happy holiday and added her heartfelt thoughts on the meaning of a new year. The 32-year-old pop star submitted a photo of herself wearing a long black leather dress and holding her hair back as she poses for the camera.

“MERRY CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEARS! It’s bittersweet to say goodbye to a year that has been so good for me, but I’m looking forward to starting over,” the star wrote in the caption. “This is one of my favorite parts of not only the creative process, but the way life has chosen to teach me.”

She continued: “In everything I do, I like to go ALL THE WAY. Give it ALL I’ve got. ALL for it to end, move on and start over. At times it can be a heartbreaking process, but I have always knowing that the pieces come back together to create something beautiful.”

Cyrus added: “Thank you to everyone who has been apart to make this year so special. Sincerely, Miley.”

The star said she had a good year, and she certainly did in her career. Cyrus’ single “Flowers” won her a Grammy for Best Pop Solo Performance, and she also took home a statue for record of the year. She was then named the youngest person ever to receive the Disney Legend Award.

Her personal life also seems to be going well. The singer has been dating boyfriend Maxx Morando since 2021. In November, she told Harper’s Bazaar“He looks a lot like me. We just don’t take life too seriously.”

She continued: “He looks at life really differently than I do. He grew up with a laptop. I had a desktop that I shared with my brothers and sisters… Honestly, he raised our dog from Reddit . I say, ‘Are you sure we’re going to do this?’ And he’s like, ‘On Reddit it says ‘blah, blah, blah.'”

Morando is apparently the person who keeps her connected, and she joked that he introduced her to “the coolest kid in Brooklyn music.”

She added: “Maxx just inspires me so much.”
