Hertz asks EV renters if they want to keep it permanently

Hertz has recently approached several electric car renters with interesting low-cost offers on cars like Teslas, allowing them to buy their rented electric cars instead of returning them. A 2023 Model 3 rents shared on Reddit that they were offered a price of $17,913, which matches the offers currently displayed on the Hertz Car Sales website. But the rental they were in had about 30,000 miles on it – fewer than other current ads.

Another renter was offered a 2023 Chevy Bolt for $18,442, while a Polestar 2 renter says they saw a purchase price of $28,500. The used cars come with a limited 12-month, 12,000-mile powertrain warranty and a 7-day buyback offer.
