The College Football Playoff is down to the quarterfinals, with the favorites all winning in the first round.

The final eight teams remaining will play in some of the biggest traditional bowl games, spread over New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Ashton Jeanty and no. 3 seeds Boise State must meet no. 6 Penn State in the Fiesta Bowl, while the Peach Bowl sees the no. 5 seed Texas square with no. 4 seed Arizona State.

The Rose Bowl will bring together the top-seeded Oregon and no. 8 Ohio Statewhile no. 2 Georgia is on his way to the Sugar Bowl to receive no. 7 seed Notre Dame. The winning quarterfinalists advance to either the Cotton Bowl or the Orange Bowl, which make up the CFP semifinals this season. Win there and it’s off to the national championship on Jan. 20 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Ga.

College Football Playoff Quarterfinals

The four quarterfinal games will be played on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day at the site of four traditional bowl games, with one game on December 31 and three on January 1.
