Firefighters battle flames in vacant four-story building in downtown LA – NBC Los Angeles

Firefighters from the Los Angeles Fire Department respond to a fire at a four-story building in the downtown Los Angeles area on Thursday.

The fire was reported after 11 near West Pico Boulevard and South Hope Street.

The fire was believed to have started on the fourth floor of the vacant building.

Firefighters “deployed master currents via risers and truck batteries on the fire trucks. Crews placed ground ladders to the fire escapes to assist unoccupied persons in exiting the vacant structure,” LAFD said.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
