NY Lottery player wins $1K a day for life and takes it as a lump sum

STATEN ISLAND, NY – A Dutchess County resident claimed a $1,000 A Day For Life top prize by matching all six numbers in the Aug. 30 CASH4LIFE drawing, The New York Lottery says.

The winning numbers were 10 12 14 28 29 Cash Ball 03. The ticket was purchased at Hess Mart located at 1569 Route 22 in Brewster.

A CASH4LIFE top prize guarantees a minimum payout of $7,000,000.

The winner, Bruce Johnson of Wingdale, elected to receive the cash value of the minimum payout, resulting in a single lump sum payment of $4,557,082 after required withholdings.

School districts in Dutchess County received $47,798,668 in Lottery Aid to Education funds during the 2023-2024 fiscal year.

Last week, a New York Lottery player from Long Island, Jose Carranza, claimed a $1 million prize on a scratch card.

Carranza, of Mastic, opted to receive a lump sum totaling $416,641 after required withholdings, according to officials.

The New York Lottery, the largest and most profitable lottery in North America, contributed $3.8 billion to public education in New York State during the 2023-2024 fiscal year.
