Rihanna says this 2000s outfit is her biggest regret

Rihanna looks back on her style evolution.

Monday, December 23, TikTok user Mystery Fashionist spoke to the singer about her style choices – past and present. The mother of two is known for her daring, cutting-edge and even empowering looks and fashion philosophies.

For the video interview, Rihanna, 36, took a fur-lined khaki suede coat and paired it with black baggy trousers, a baseball cap and pointed heels. Wearing an emerald green handkerchief tied around her neck and keeping her hair down, she completed the look with a bulky black leather belt with silver hardware.

“I love it. It gives a bit of Christian Dior,” she said of her outfit, which she rated a 10, pointing to the sleeves of her jacket. She also highlighted her YSL trousers, boots and belt.

The Fenty founder told Mystery Fashionist that she can’t live without a good New York snapback, both baggy jeans and well-fitting vintage jeans, “the little fast crocodile LV monogram bag” and Savage X Fenty underwear.

When TikTokers asked her what fashion trend she regretted participating in, she replied: “Oh my God, why do you have to bring up old s—.”

He noted that many of the people he interviewed in the past often mentioned the combination of sweatpants and heels in response to this question – but Rihanna loved that trend, she said, “especially now as a mother.”

“When I first started and I was wearing like those baggy jeans with the panties out,” she said. “What the f— was I thinking?”

It’s an older trend, but has resurfaced in recent years, the interviewer said.

But Rihanna said she’s happy to ditch the trend. She ran her hands over her thick leather belt – about where she used to let her underwear pop out.

“It’s called growth, y’all!” she said.
