Taylor Swift skips Travis Kelce’s Steelers Christmas game

Last Christmas, Taylor Swift brought “Santa Claus” (ie her brother, Austin Swift, dressed in the outfit) and her family to the Kansas City Chiefs’ Dec. 25 game against the Las Vegas Raiders. This year, she’s supporting her boyfriend, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, from afar. Swift chose not to attend Kelce’s road game at Allegiant Stadium. He was filmed arriving at the stadium earlier today, and she wasn’t seen there until kickoff.

The singer’s decision isn’t surprising since Swift has only attended Kelce’s home games. Last year’s Christmas game had been at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. In October, a source told Page six that Swift avoided away games because of the security risk. “She doesn’t go anywhere unless she knows the place intimately and it’s been thoroughly researched and secured beforehand,” the source said.

On December 3, a source said Us Weekly little about Swift’s Christmas plans, saying she intends to host her and Kelce’s families. Now that her Eras Tour has ended, the singer is looking forward to spending more time with her partner of over a year.

A source shared, “Taylor plans to stay in and hibernate (with Travis) for a while. They want to do ‘normal things’ as a couple.”

This insider also hinted that a holiday engagement is not on the cards. While the couple would “love to be engaged,” they’re “in no rush,” the source said.

Another source added that Swift prefers to take things slowly. They explained, “Taylor feels like Travis is The One, but it’s not her style to jump in. That’s just not how she does (things). Marriage is a big deal and she wants (it to be) forever.”

Kelce, for his part, has put a lot of effort into making Swift’s December — her birthday falls on Dec. 13 — special despite his work commitments. On December 5, a source said Page six, “Even though he’s playing at Christmas and has an away game this weekend for Taylor’s birthday, Travis will make sure to make time to celebrate both occasions with her.”

He also got her a lot of presents. “(He) has been shopping for Christmas and birthday presents for Taylor for a while now,” the insider said. “(He’s) not the type to leave these things to the last minute, so he’s been picking up items here and there for the last several months when he has a chance.”
