Plane crashes into field moments after take-off – as emergency services rush to the scene

Emergency crews have raced to the scene of a plane crash in a Scottish meadow.

The plane plummeted from the sky moments after take-off at Fife Airport shortly before 12 noon today.

Police and fire services are on the scene, but have not confirmed how many people were on board or the extent of any injuries.

A spokesman for Scotland said: ‘Emergency services are in attendance near Fife Airport after a light aircraft crashed at 11.40 on Monday 23 December.

‘Inquiries are ongoing.’

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: ‘We were alerted at 11.38am on Monday 23 December to an incident involving a light aircraft near Kinglassie, Fife.
