USPS customers throughout Missouri are experiencing delivery delays

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – USPS customers say they are experiencing unusually long delivery delays.

The USPS declined to speak to KY3 on camera about the reasoning behind this backup. KY3 received this statement from the USPS.

“Through the significant progress the Postal Service has made under its 10-year Delivering for America plan—a $40 billion investment aimed at modernizing and revitalizing the organization—USPS is meeting the challenge of the year’s highest increase in mail and package volume with expanded processing capabilities, optimized transportation strategies, improved operational precision and dedication of employees across the country,” said Mark Inglett of the USPS in an email to KY3.

KY3 received several emails, calls and posts on Facebook on this issue. Hundreds of people in the Ozarks and elsewhere have commented on the issue. Customers in the Ozarks we interviewed said they understand the USPS is very busy this holiday season, but many still haven’t received a response from their local post offices.

Customers can track their packages on www.usps.com. They can request automatic updates via email or SMS until the package reaches its destination.

“We are happy to work to resolve any specific issue that comes to our attention and encourage customers to contact us through our website, USPS.com,” Inglett said. “Click on “Contact Us” at the bottom of our website or use this direct URL: https://usps.force.com/emailus/s/. Customers can also request assistance via the official United States Postal Service X account @USPSHelp or private message on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/USPS.

Holiday mailing information can be found online at the USPS Holiday Center at Welcome | USPS.”
