Bills QB Josh Allen played most of record-setting season with broken hand: Report

Josh Allen has broken more than a dozen NFL records this season. They’re not the only things he’s broken.

The Buffalo Bills quarterback played most of the season with a broken left hand, according to NFL.com reporter Ian Rapaport.

National media members and NFL executives are on hand to present Allen with the MVP trophy, and that was before the news that his hand was broken.

Allen suffered the injury in the fourth quarter of Buffalo’s Week 1 win over the Arizona Cardinals. He soared over a Cardinals defender and tumbled into the end zone for a 6-yard touchdown run. His right elbow landed on his left hand when he landed on the ground. Allen’s hand and wrist were beaten by team trainers, but he did not miss any games.

“I’m fine,” Allen told reporters after the game, adding that he has undergone X-rays and additional tests. “I’m not a doctor, I just kind of landed on it.”

Allen was listed on the injury report the following week, but was a full participant every day. He has the longest active streak by a quarterback and the 13th-longest all-time with 112 consecutive starts (102 in the regular season and 10 in the playoffs).
