What will Suits LA be about?

The center of the Suitable for LA is Black Lane Law, a firm representing the most powerful clients in Los Angeles and specializing in entertainment and criminal law, founded by former federal prosecutor Ted Black and his close friend Stuart Lane.

When Suitable for LA begins, Black Lane Law will be at a crisis point and Ted Black will be forced to step into a role he had avoided his entire career to save it.

According to the show’s logline, Stephen Amell’s Suitable for LA lawyer will be surrounded by characters to “test their loyalty” to each other, all the while, in classical Suits fashion that blends their personal and professional lives.

In the meantime, the series will watch “events from years ago slowly unravel” which explains why Ted chose it “leave behind everything and everyone he loved.”

The description of past events that unravel seems to suggest so Suitable for LA will feature a flashback story alongside its present-day narrative, something Amell is more than familiar with after starring in many seasons of Arrow flashbacks.

Ted Black was once a prosecutor in New York, where Harvey Specter used to work in the District Attorney’s office. Perhaps the legal powerhouses will have a convoluted past that leads to the original Suits star to show face in California for his three-episode storyline in the upcoming spin-off.

What is still unclear about Spectre’s Suitable for LA the return is whether he will land on the same or opposite side of Black in the courtroom. These days, Specter has left his Big Apple corporate litigation days behind to keep an eye on the little guy in Seattle, so it’s easy to imagine him taking on the wealthy clients Black will represent.

But alongside the overall narrative, fans should expect to see plenty of stand-alone cases in Suitable for LAas Black Lane Law takes over the world of entertainment law.

Like the series premiere will have John Amos as himself, presumably as a client at Black Lane Law, Suitable for LA will have plenty of room for Hollywood cameos everywhere, either as clients in the firm or opposition in cases.
