Suspect dead, five injured in Killeen Mall

UPDATE (19:20)

In a press conference held in Killeen Mall, Texas, DPS Sgt. Bryan Washko spoke about the incident that injured five Saturday night. Four were seriously injured, while another suffered minor injuries.

Temple police and state troopers began pursuing a car after they received calls about a possible drunk driver.

The chase started in Belton and ended when a suspect, now dead, crashed into the mall.

Killeen Police are responding to an incident with reported injuries at the Killeen Mall.

“We are aware of an incident at Killeen Mall and some injuries have been reported,” a statement from the department reads. “The area is safe at this time.”

Killeen police say 25 News that a DPS pursuit from Belton entered Killeen. The suspect drove into the mall.

DPS Sgt. Bryan Washko says a trooper shot and killed a suspect after a chase led them into the mall. He believes that several spectators have been shot and their circumstances are unknown.
