Man reportedly sprays bug killer on food inside Mesa Walmart

MESA, AZ (AZFamily) – A Mesa Walmart Supercenter had to remove food from its shelves after a man allegedly sprayed it with bug killer.

The incident happened at the mega store at Stapley Drive and Baseline Road. Mesa police said they found the video showing the objects being sprayed on Friday.

Officers said they told store management, who are “taking a proactive approach” to keeping their customers safe.

A Walmart spokesman said workers removed all directly affected products and cleaned and disinfected the affected area of the store.

“We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused our customers while we work to resolve this issue,” Walmart said. “The health and safety of our customers and employees is always a top priority.”

Police said they are continuing the investigation.

The reported video was posted on Reddit.
