The Iron are back in action at home looking to build on a 2-1 win away to Marine where the character was present from United as Whitehall grabbed a late double to turn the tide and take three points back to Attis. Arena.

With two wins in their last two, and just a point behind Scunthorpe, Hereford pose a strong threat as they look to take all three points.

The last time both sides faced each other, Scunthorpe emerged victorious at home towards the end of last season, with a comfortable 4-1 victory. Hereford led at half-time but four second-half goals from Callum Roberts, Maxim Kouogun, Liam McAlinden and Alfie Beestin sealed victory. In the reverse fixture last season, the Iron again won emphatically, 5-1 away, Danny Whitehall, Michael Kelly, Roberts and a goal from Jacob Butterfield blowing the Bulls away.

Our opponents have one man in form going into this clash, left wing, Yusifu Ceesay. He got the winner in both of Hereford’s last games, both 1-0 wins over Scarborough Athletic and Chorley. Ceesay has scored three goals this season and assisted three times in his 21 appearances this season. Iron will look to nullify Ceesay in Saturday’s game.

Another key player for the visitors is central midfielder Alex Babos. The 26-year-old Welshman has managed to bag three goals from the middle of the park and has bagged an impressive five assists this season after joining Hereford from Banbury United ahead of the 2023-24 season. Babos has been a successful signing, picking up 10 goals and four assists last season, helping his side to a top-half finish, six points off the play-offs.

After winning a penalty and then capitalizing from the spot and then grabbing a last-minute winner to seal his thriller, Danny Whitehall will be looking to help the Iron win again, for a first home win since our emphatic 6-0 win in end of October against Farsley Celtic.
