McDonald’s announces a major menu change with new burgers

McDonald’s is known for frequently changing its menus while keeping its most iconic items available year-round.

In its latest menu shake-up, the fast food giant has revealed three exclusive recipes that have never been seen before.

Restaurants across the UK will welcome a tantalizing new burger filled with McDonald’s trademark 100 per cent beef patty plus a quirky wrap flavour.

The latter will even benefit from a special offer once a week where ‘Maccies’ fans can get the sweet but tasty taste for just £1.99.

A fresh McFlurry flavor completes the lineup, while discontinued fan favorites return. But when exactly can McDonald’s fans get their hands on the delicious new menu?

Fans of McDonald’s current festive lineup has less than two weeks to get their fix Terry’s Chocolate Orange and the delicious Big Tasty.

The iconic fast food chain will debut its New Year’s offer on Monday 6 January 2025. The star of the menu is the Chicken Katsu One wrap, which will be available in all McDonald’s restaurants in the UK and Ireland and via the McDonald’s app.

It features crispy or grilled chicken coated in flavorful katsu sauce, crispy onions, crunchy cucumber and fresh lettuce wrapped in a warm, toasted tortilla.

Dedicated McDonald’s fanatics may remember the sold-out Katsu Curry Chicken McNuggets, which launched in 2021 and inspired the new wrap flavor.

What’s more, those who buy the Katsu wrap on a Wednesday can get it for just £1.99 – a price McDonald’s claims is “seven times cheaper than Wagamama’s Chicken Katsu Curry”.

An exclusive new McDonald’s BBQ Ranch Stack will join the tasty offering. It features two 100 percent beef patties topped with Emmental cheese, lettuce, bacon, crispy onions, creamy ranch and sweet BBQ sauce, all in a glazed sesame seed bun.

With the confirmed arrival of the Milky Way McFlurry, those with a sweet tooth will be delighted with a fresh McFlurry taste. This sweet treat includes soft dairy ice cream swirled with milk chocolate stars and malt flavored pieces topped with a chocolate sauce.

  • The Katsu Chicken One – £3.49 single item, £5.29 with a meal and £1.99 on Wednesday
  • BBQ Ranch Stack – £5.19 single item, £6.99 with a meal
  • McCrispy BBQ Smokehouse – £5.79 single item, £7.49 with a meal
  • Milky Way McFlurry – £2.19 single item
  • Mozzarella Dippers – £2.39 single item

As for the returned items, chicken lovers can tuck into the McCrispy BBQ Smokehouse starting January 6th.

The McCrispy flavor is made from a 100 percent chicken breast fillet coated in a crispy, crunchy coating with a smoky BBQ sauce, cheddar cheese, red onion and lettuce, all in a delicious sourdough-style, sesame-topped bun.

It’s also set to stay for a few months, with no plans to leave UK menus before 6 May 2025.

Mozzarella Dippers – sticks of Mozzarella cheese coated in breadcrumbs and served with Salsa dip – will also be available until March 25 as a 3-piece collection or 9-piece share box.
