I’m A Celebrity 2024 star ‘got special treatment’ in jungle over lifestyle choices

Alan Halsall, known for playing Tyrone Dobbs in Coronation Street, has revealed he had a little help when it came to mealtimes on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

Alan Halsall admits he didn’t have the same meals as his I’m A Celebrity campmates.

The actor, who plays Tyrone Dobbs on Coronation Street, was eliminated from the camp before the final. McFly star Danny Jones was crowned King of the Jungle after beating off stiff competition from Coleen Rooney and Rev Richard Coles.

Alan has since revealed that he had some extra help from ITV bosses during his time on I’m A Celeb when it came to the meals he was given. But he insists the alternative meals he was given were “bland”.

Alan is a lifelong vegetarian, so ITV bosses made sure he wasn’t forced to eat meat during his time Down Under. This meant that his meals at camp looked a little different to his co-stars as he was sent dishes.

With fans wondering what the Corrie star ate during his time in the jungle, Alan revealed he was sent a “veggie equivalent”. He took to Instagram to answer questions from his followers – and the topic was food.

One asked him, “Did you give up being a veggie while you were in the jungle?”. Alan replied, “No, they send a veggie equivalent. Generally something very bland, plain tofu…etc.”

Alan has an 11-year-old daughter, Sienna, with his ex-wife Lucy-Jo Hudson. The pair met on the set of Coronation Street in 2005. Alan reunited with Sienna after flying home from Australia – the pair shared a sweet hug.

The actor had admitted it was “impossible to put into words” how excited he was to see his daughter after weeks in the jungle. The Tyrone Dobbs star also spoke about how much his daughter will miss him when I’m A Celeb starts.

He told his fellow campers: “It’s going to be really hard. She’s found the idea of ​​me leaving difficult. It’s only in the last two weeks or so that she’s come around to the idea.

“We never spend more than two weeks apart. I’m very emotional with Sienna, so it will be interesting to see how I do. I tend to try to hide my emotions, but with Sienna I’m not special at all good – I think I’ll have more blubs, she’s 11 and so I hope I don’t embarrass her.”
