Australia vs India: Third Test drawn after rain

More inclement weather in Brisbane spoiled a potentially thrilling third Test final between Australia and India, leaving the series tied at 1-1.

After building a first-innings lead of 185, Australian wickets tumbled as they chased quick runs in their second innings in a bid to force a result at the Gabba.

They slipped to 33-5 and Jasprit Bumrah tore through the top order again before captain Pat Cummins hit 22 from 10 balls to declare at 89-7.

The positive move set India 275 to win from a minimum of 54 overs, but poor light halted play with the tourists 8-0 in the third over of their chase.

Rain, which has decimated much of the Test, arrived soon after and the players shook hands at 15:30 local time.

The five-match series resumes in Melbourne for the Boxing Day Test on December 26 (23.30 GMT, December 25), with a crowd close to 90,000 expected for the opening day.
