Is Jakobi Meyers playing tonight? Raiders WR has quiet first half vs. Falcons

The Las Vegas Raiders couldn’t get much of anything going on offense in the first half of the Week 15 game vs Atlanta Falconswhich obviously affected veteran wide receiver Jakobi Meyers.

The Raiders mustered just three points and 80 yards of total offense over the first two quarters of Monday night’s contest, including just 41 yards through the air. The struggles come as no surprise as Las Vegas was forced to start Desmond Ridder due to injuries to Gardner Minshew and Aidan O’Connell.

While Ridder has connected with several players in the first half, he has yet to target a wide receiver. Here’s a closer look at what’s happening with Meyers through two quarters of Week 15.

Is Jakobi Meyers playing tonight?

UPDATE: With just under five minutes left, Meyers finally has his first catch of the game! Better late than never, we guess.

END UPDATE

UPDATE: Meyers is now up to two targets for the game, but he has yet to record a catch. Meyers got a goal in the fourth quarter, but he had a very rare drop, which could have been his first of the season.

END UPDATE

UPDATE: Meyers was actually targeted and had a catch in the third quarter, but unfortunately it was erased due to a Raiders penalty.

END UPDATE

Meyers was on the injury report this week, but he was cleared Saturday and taken off it. He’s active, healthy and on the field, he just hasn’t been targeted yet.

Meanwhile, Ridder has thrown passes to tight ends Michael Mayer and Brock Bowers, and running backs Sincere McCormick and Ameer Abdullah. Not a single wide receiver has caught a pass yet.

It’s hard to say we’re surprised by the Raiders’ ineptitude, as this was expected with Knight under center. What makes the Knights’ showing worse is the fact that the Falcons have a bottom-10 pass defense.

Hopefully things will pick up for Meyers in the second half.

Jakobi Meyer’s statistics today

State Total
Goal 5
Receptions 2
Receiving Yards 19
