Grandmother shoots, kills grandson in Buckeye: police

A woman who allegedly shot and killed her grandson Sunday afternoon in Buckeye has been taken into custody.

The shooting happened just after 4pm at a nearby home Baseline and Miller Roads.

Buckeye Police say officers responded to the scene where a woman in her 50s came out of the home and was taken into custody.

Officers entered the home and found an unresponsive woman in her early 30s with a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

A woman in her 70s allegedly shot and killed her grandson at a home near 254th Avenue and Carson Drive on Dec. 15 in Buckeye.

A third person in the home, a woman in her 70s, was also detained. Police say there was a gun near her when she was arrested.

“Information gathered at the scene indicates that this was a domestic violence incident involving a grandmother, mother and granddaughter and that the grandmother shot the grandson.” police said.

No identities were released.
