Additionally, Lady Gaga and Lowe debuted a bonus version of “Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town,” which has dropped simultaneously on Apple Music and other platforms.

Carpool karaoke emerged as a series of segments on The Late Late Show with James Corden before becoming a standalone series beginning in 2017, first on Apple Music and eventually migrating to Apple TV+ for its final season, Season 5, which aired its final episode in June 2023.

The series sometimes featured singers and musicians, but also actors, athletes and others across pop culture. Neither Gaga, Roan nor Lipa had previously performed.

The series release comes on the same night as three-time Grammy winner Lipa’s concert special An evening with Dua Lipa broadcast on CBS. Gaga, a 13-time Grammy winner nominated for two more this year, stars as Harley Quinn in Joker: Folie á Deuxwhile Roan has just scored six Grammy nominations, including for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Album of the Year and Best New Artist for his debut album The Rise and Fall of a Midwestern Princess.

Carpool Karaoke: The Series won five consecutive Emmy Awards in the Short Series category, and has a total of seven Emmy nominations. It is produced for Apple by CBS Studios in association with Fulwell 73, with Corden, Ben Winston and Eric Pankowski serving as executive producers.
